ADHD & Neurodiversity
Alongside specialist EMDR and trauma therapy, Farishta Jalal works with adults on the psychological impact of ADHD: through ADHD-aware psychotherapy, evidence-based psychoeducation, and practical resources.
ADHD affects far more than attention. Many adults with ADHD also carry difficulties with emotional regulation, self-criticism built up over years of feeling "not good enough," overwhelm, and the exhaustion of masking or compensating just to get through ordinary days. This section brings together plain, evidence-based information about those experiences and how therapy can be adapted to work with them, not against them.
Farishta Jalal is a Clinical Psychotherapist, EMDR Trauma Specialist and Certified ADHD Assessor. This background informs her understanding of how ADHD presents and how psychotherapy can be adapted accordingly: it does not mean ADHD diagnostic assessment is currently offered through this website.
This isn't a diagnostic service. If you're looking to find out whether you have ADHD, that's a separate process, usually starting with your GP or a specialist ADHD assessment service: see the note below. What's offered here is psychological support for adults who already identify as having ADHD (diagnosed or not), and clear information for anyone trying to understand it better.
